Fall in love with our new seasoned insect; the Buffalo worm.

For our hottest seasoning so far, we decided to offer you a brand new edible insect species: The Buffalo worm. The Buffalo worm or lesser mealworm (Alphitobius diaperinus) belongs to the same family as the mealworm. It is particularly rich in proteins in iron. It has a nutty flavour, close to cashews and peanuts.

LESSER MEALWORM, STRONG FLAVOUR

A smaller edible insect doesn't mean a small taste. Regarding deliciousness and a great experience, there is no compromise!

We decided to combine the strong chilli seasoning with the nutty taste of the buffalo worm to create this snack that will be perfect for a healthy appetizer or to add some crispiness and proteins to your salad. A small insect for a big whoa! 

THE BUFFALO WORM, A SUPER-FOOD

The buffalo worm contains more than 55% of complete protein. It means that all the essential amino acids are present in sufficient amount. That's not all... It is also a source of iron and vitamins particularly well absorbed by our body. That's why we also choose this super-food to enrich our pasta. Chill and enjoy our healthy chilli buffalo worm!

Ingredients: Whole dehydrated buffalo worms
(Alphitobius diaperinus), spice blend [salt, spices (e.a paprika 15% and hot peper 6,9%), wheat flour, onion, sunflower oil, garlic (naturally present sulphites), tomato powder, pepper, anticaking : magnesium carbonate], stabiliser (acacia gum)

Allergens :Insects may contain gluten and have same allergens as crustaceans, molluscs and dust mites. May contain traces of: sesame, milk, sulfites

Storage: 8 to 12 month depending on batch number. Store in a dry place away from light. Ready to eat and best before 3 days after opening.

Let's start soft

The aperitif is not always synonyms with wine, beers or even cocktails and can be just as great with a nice cool drink. We could not find an expert to pair an ideal soft drink with edible insects, so we’ve decided to form our own panel! Giovanni our Ice Tea specialist, Sophie a compulsive consumer of Coca Cola and finally Nicolas a juice lover of all kinds. The results are clear, ALL soft drinks tested fitted perfectly with our crunchy and tasty edible insects! 

Wing and wine

In order to know what the best wine is to be served with our grasshoppers, crickets and mealworms, we’ve decided to contact our friends from Le Petit Ballon. Jean Michel Deluc, Master Sommelier since 1991 and previously sommelier at the Ritz (if you please) in Paris, has organized for us a tasting. Result: Best to match your wine according to the seasoning of the insects. Indeed, the natural flavour of the insect is very neutral and the seasoning obviously much stronger.

Beers

As an aperitif, beers have many different specifications. However we haven’t yet found our beer expert, but we’re working on it!
