Are you more grasshoppers nuggets or caramelised mealworms? Whether salty or sweetly, our original grasshoppers to cook will surprise you with our unique recipes developed by French chefs. It’s been a long time now that we invite you to eat our edible insects for the aperitif, now it’s time to cook. Our Origine Range and its recipes made with edible insects will allow you to realise tasty meals without requiring any specific cooking experience. Packed with proteins and omega 3 fatty acids, they will be perfect to add some nutrients and will allow you to create the most special dishes!

SALTY AND SWEET INSECTS TO COOK

You can cook our insects in different ways. Indeed, you can cook them in slaty meals like pasta but also in sweet meals with caramel. We’ve worked with french chefs from l’Atelier des Chefs in order to create unique recipes : one pan pasta, woks and a lot of other delicacies to discover. Wanna try a grasshoppers' wok? We selected a recipe an easy and quick edible insects' recipe! Crispy, tasty, generous, everything you dreamed of!

Preparation of your grasshoppers' wok

To realise this wonderful edible insects recipe, you'll need 20 minutes of preparation, 15 minutes of heating. After that, it's a lifetime memory of deliciousness with your crispy grasshoppers! 

Ingredients and kitchen tools (for 4 persons):

  • 1 Wok (or 1 big span)
  • 4 carrots
  • 20 cl of water
  • ½ bunch of radishes
  • 2 zucchinis
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 12 raw gambas
  • 2 cl of olive oil
  • 1 box of Original grasshoppers (15 g)
  • 6,5 cl of soy sauce
  • 10 gr of sesame seeds
  • coriander (depending on your taste)
  • pepper and salt (depending on your taste)

Follow the recipe, it will be easy! 

First of all, start by taking off your edible grasshoppers' wings. You will find a complete guide in our "experience" section.

Once it's done, you can rinse and clean your vegetables.

Then peel the carrots and slice them thinly. Cut the radishes lengthwise in 4 and chisel the coriander. 

Cut the extremities of the zucchinis and cut them is small sticks.

For the bell peppers, cut them in half and get rid off the seeds. Slice them thinly.

Shell the gambas by splitting the back.

It's time for the cooking time! Drizzle some olive oil in your wok and cook the gambas for a few minutes until they are well cooked. (Check the pinky colour).

In order to let the grasshoppers take the gambas flavour, add them in the wok and let them heat a few minutes. Pour everything on a plate and reserve.

In the same wok, cook first the bell peppers at high temperature, add the Dans le même wok, faites d’abord cuire les poivrons à feu vif, et salez à votre convenance. Laissez cuire pendant 2 min.

Next add the carrots, then the water. Stew for 3 minutes. Then put the radishes and cook again for 1 minute.

For ending, add the zucchinis, salt and pepper, cook at high temperature for 2 minutes.

Once heating is done, pour the soy sauce and spread the coriander and sesame seeds on your dish. Your insect recipe is finally ready! 

The chef's tip:

If you want a 100% edible insect recipe, you can replace the gambas with grasshoppers in foamed butter.
